Scottsdale Golf Club Welcomes Members To Participate In A Variety Of Golfing Activities

The Country Club at DC Ranch, a members-only golf and country club in North Scottsdale, Arizona, has encouraged its members to participate in the plethora of golf-related activities being offered at the course. The course, designed by Tom Lehman and John Fought, is located at the base of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Arizona. The golfing events offered include instruction sessions, tournaments, as well as practice sessions for members as well as guests of all ages.

The club has a Gentlemen’s Golf group which is exclusively for men. It hosts weekly games that are open to all members. There is a White Tee Game where the group of members as a whole play from the white tees, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings. There is also a Friday Game that is played every Friday afternoon and is generally played from the blue tees. Another inclusion is a Blue Tee Game which is played on Saturday mornings and is generally played from the blue tees. The Country Club also hosts a Men’s Day once a month on Saturdays throughout the season.

The club also has a Ladies’ Golf group, which is exclusively for women, which it claims is one of the most active groups in the valley. The Ladies’ Golf group organizes a 9 hole event on Monday, an 18 hole event on Tuesday, and an 18 hole event with lunch included on Thursday. The group also hosts clinics for both beginners and advanced players. The club also encourages children to start learning golf early and to participate in weekly golf clinics, golf camps, and parent/child golf tournaments. The club also offers individual and group instruction from its PGA certified professionals. The options range from 60-minute lessons, 30-minute lessons, 9 hole playing lessons, 1-hour junior lessons, group clinics, and junior clinics.

The Scottsdale golf club hosts a nine-hole mixed couples event once a month on Sundays throughout the season with dinner to follow. Members can also sign up for an interclub team that gives them a chance to compete against other clubs while playing other courses once a month. There are plenty of Member/Member one-day and two-day tournaments that include special prizes, awards, games, and food. There are also Member/Guest tournaments where members have the opportunity to invite a friend or family member to participate.

There are quite a few special events that cater to members of the different groups. There is the Desert Diamond Classic, which is exclusively for the Ladies’ Group members and their guests. It is generally held in the last week of March with the practice round on a Monday and the five 9-hole matches taking place from Tuesday to Thursday. The members of the Gentlemen’s Group can participate in the Round-Up which is the first of two men's Member/Guest events. The original Member Guest is held to the traditional 5, nine-hole matches, held over four days with the practice round being included as part of the four days. The year ending event is called the Stampede. It has the same format as the other two Member/Guest events offered, but it is packed into three days instead of four. It is generally held in the first or second week of May.
