Rusty Angler Highlights Fall Bass Fishing Tournaments
As 2021 moves into its final months, the tournaments for bass fishing are growing fewer as the colder weather prepares to move in. However, eight bass fishing tournaments are scheduled from the end of September to the beginning of December.
“Bass fishing tournaments have become immensely popular,” said Russell Conner, owner of the Rusty Angler, a website that offers fishing tips and techniques. “The Bass Pro Tournament circuit can mean big money and great entertainment. However, some junior, college, kayak, and team tournaments are still upcoming.”
The 2021 Bass Pro Bassmaster Open at Lake Norman in Charlotte, NC is scheduled for September 23-25. This is one in a series of tournaments that tier up to the Bassmaster Classic and the Bassmaster Elite Series. The open tournaments are made up of pros and their co-anglers. The other upcoming Bassmaster Open tournaments will be held at Lewis Smith Lake in Jasper, Alabama from October 7 to 9 and at Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees in Grove, Oklahoma from October 21 to 23.
A national tournament called the 2021 TNT Fireworks B.A.S.S. Nation Championship will take place from November 3 to 5 on the Ouachita River in Monroe, Louisiana. Anglers from across the country qualified for the tournament via regional tournaments held throughout the country. The top three anglers will earn a berth at the 2022 Bassmaster Classic.
From December 8 to 11, the 2021 Bassmaster Team Championship and Classic Fish-Off will take place at Lake Eufaula in Eufaula, Alabama. The team portion of the event will be held on December 8 and 9 and will feature anglers from 32 states across the country. The winning team will win a cash prize and will lead the Classic Fish-off, which is scheduled for December 10 and 11.
For kayak bass fishing, the last event of the 2021 B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series powered by Tourney X will take place on the Mississippi River in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on September 25. This is the last of the five regular season events, which will culminate with a championship to be held in conjunction with the 2022 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk, which is scheduled for March 4-6, 2022 at Lake Hartwell in Greenville, South Carolina.
From October 1-4, the 2021 Carhartt Bassmaster College Bracket presented by Bass Pro Shops will take place on the Coosa River in Wetumpka, Alabama. This event features eight of the country’s best college anglers. Featuring a new tournament format, the tournament will have all eight anglers compete individually on Day 1 to determine seeding and set the bracket for head-to-head competition. The winner will receive a berth in the 2022 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk.
From October 8-9, the 2021 Mossy Oak Fishing Bassmaster Junior National Championship will take place at Carroll County 1000 Acre Recreational Lake in Huntingdon, Tennessee. This tournament is for anglers who are in 2nd through 8th grades. The tournament features two-angler teams accompanied by a coach. The prize is a $2,500 scholarship.
