Local Mattress Store in Pensacola Provides Needed Supplies to a Children’s Advocacy Center
Pensacola, Fla. – As a long-time resident and member of their community, Mattress Outlet is always looking for ways to give back to the community that supports them. With this mission in mind, the mattress store in Pensacola started the Let Them Sleep Program.
The Let Them Sleep program was founded in partnership with the Gulf Coast Kid’s House (GCKH) on December 1, 2018. The program’s mission is to, “ensure all kids are getting healthy and safe sleep,” by providing the Gulf Coast Kid’s House with new mattresses, box springs, and bed frames. Additionally, the Mattress Outlet team will deliver and install the new furniture for the family in need.
"GCKH has a campaign year-round to provide pack-n-plays for our youngest children, and now, donors can help provide a safe and sound night’s sleep for our toddlers and older children. Up to eight families each month could use assistance with appropriate beds for their children,” states Stacey Kostevicki, executive director of Gulf Coast Kid’s House.
Gulf Coast Kid's House is a children's advocacy center serving Escambia County. The team of dedicated professionals strives to combine all the professionals and resources needed for the intervention, investigation, and prosecution of child abuse cases. The goal of Gulf Coast Kid's House is to, “form a more collaborative response to child abuse cases so that [they] can improve case outcomes and minimize trauma to the children and families [they] serve.”
Mattress Outlet covers 100 percent of the costs for the donations but offers residents of their community the opportunity to contribute as well. Interested parties can choose to donate in several different ways. Individuals purchasing a new mattress from Mattress Outlet can elect to donate any dollar amount in addition to their purchase, or an individual can donate directly through the Mattress Outlet website at www.mattressoutletllc.com/gulf-coast-kids.html. Organizations or business owners can also choose to “sponsor” a new bed and mattress set for $250.
Since the program began, more than 30 new beds have been donated to those in need of a safe and warm place to sleep. “It’s such a great program. That’s why I love working here,” says a long-time employee of the company, Stephanie Allen.
Since opening their doors in 2006, the Pensacola furniture store has made it their mission to provide unparalleled customer service and quality mattresses at a great price. Mattress Outlet offers a wide variety of name-brand mattresses, in addition to bed frames, furniture, and more. To date, the company provides locations in both Destin and Pensacola, allowing them to conveniently serve their customers across the Emerald Coast.
